State Department Had No $$$ for Benghazi Security, Did Have $16 Mil for Kindles and $4.5 for Art

By Daniel Greenfield

According to Hillary Clinton’s long-delayed Benghazigate testimony, the State Department just did not have enough money to provide security for a mission in one of the most dangerous places in the world.

It did however have 16 million dollars to spend on 2,500 kindle book readers at the drastically inflated price of $6,600 per device.

How much security could that 16 million buy?

It had $79,000 to spend on Obama’s books and $20,000 on a portrait of Obama. The US Embassy had $150,000 to spend on a book about the ambassador’s residence. The US Embassy in Austria had $150,000+ for a Chevy Volt and its charging station.

And here is what else Hillary’s State Department did have money for…

7.9 billion dollars for Obama’s Global Health Initiative.

1 billion for global climate change.

2.2 billion to strengthen democratic institutions in Pakistan.

And of course… Mosque renovations.

In 2011 the State Department provided funds to restore the 15th century Gobarau Minaret in Katsina State in Nigeria’s predominantly Muslim north, an area which has become a virtual killing field for Christians at the hands of Muslim militants, led by the al-Qaeda-linked terror group Boko Haram….

U.S. Policy Defending Sharia, Not American Citizens

by Clare M. Lopez

America’s involvement in the global jihad against Western civilization—on the side of the jihadis—is accelerating. Instead of standing firm as leader of the free world and defender of inalienable human rights, U.S. policy is shifting demonstrably to the defense of those who systematically deny such rights to their own people and seek to suppress them everywhere.

Since 2009, U.S. foreign policy has backed Al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood power plays in Libya, Egypt and now Syria, too. The U.S. Department of State is working closely with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), whose top objective is the criminalization of the criticism of Islam.

U.S. troops in Afghanistan are subject to suicidal Rules of Engagement (ROEs) drafted in deference to Islamic law by commanders desperate to appease Islamic sensibilities. At home, the White House cultivates relationships with CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations)/HAMAS and Muslim Brotherhood leadership figures and associates. Instructors, trainers and any curriculum that would describe accurately the link between Islamic doctrine, law, and scripture and Islamic terrorism have been methodically purged from U.S. government, intelligence and law enforcement classrooms.

And now, an American citizen, a pastor, has just been sentenced to death in absentia by an Egyptian state security court for his alleged involvement in promoting an obscure online film called “The Innocence of Muslims.” Egyptian Judge Saif al Nasr Soliman handed down the death penalty on charges of “insulting the Islamic religion” on November 28, 2012 for Florida Christian pastor Terry Jones and seven expatriate Egyptian Coptic Christians who are reported to have helped produce and promote the video.

The low-budget film was made in the U.S. and accurately, if crudely, depicts some of the less admirable episodes from the Sirat Rasul Allah (biography of the Muslim prophet Mohammed). Orchestrateddemonstrations broke out across the Muslim world in September, 2012 involving thousands of angry people who’d never seen the film and probably had no access to the Internet anyway (where the film’s 14-minutetrailer had been posted for over two months at that point).

Instead of taking the opportunity to explain the U.S.’s commitment to First Amendment free speech rights, the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were quick to disclaim any responsibility for the video and attempted to assuage Islamic feelings by sending out a stream of Twitter apologies (that were later deleted):

Worse yet, the September 11, 2012 Ansar al-Shariah assault on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens, his staffer Sean Smith, and two former Navy SEAL CIA security contractors, was deceitfully used by the Obama administration for weeks afterwards as an excuse to promote a narrative in perfect sync with the OIC and aimed at curbing American free speech rights….

‘Arab Spring’ Explodes in Attacks Against America

by Clare Lopez

…these were acts of war. There can be no question but that they were coordinated acts of war, purposely timed to fall on America’s solemn day of commemoration of the worst jihadist attacks ever committed on the U.S. homeland (by Iran and al-Qa’eda, which sprang from the Muslim Brotherhood).

Diplomatic facilities are the sovereign territory of the country to which they belong. The host country is responsible for their security – and even though neither Egyptian nor Libyan uniformed government forces directly participated in the attacks, it is obvious that their Muslim Brotherhood supporters, the ones who elected them to office and who are now calling for jihad and sharia, were.

Moreover, it is also clear that the U.S. Department of State was aware of the impending threat to its facilities over the film because its Cairo Embassy issued a despicable statement of abject appeasement in advance of the attacks that offered up the treasured right of American free speech on the altar of Islamophobia.

U.S. Embassy Condemns Religious Incitement

September 11, 2012

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.

That statement came directly out of the talking points of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on its Ten-Year Programme of Action and is intended by both the OIC and the U.S. Department of State to impose legal limits on Americans’ freedom of speech by criminalizing criticism of Islam. Recall that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton hosted OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu in Washington, D.C. in mid-December 2011 to discuss implementation mechanisms for “Resolution 16/18,” a declaration adopted by the U.N. Human Rights Council in April 2011. Resolution 16/18 calls on countries to combat “intolerance, negative stereotyping and stigmatization” based on religion without criminalizing free speech – except in cases of “incitement to imminent violence.” If now the measure of “incitement to imminent violence” is a “test of consequences” that imposes prior restraint on freedom of expression because of the unpredictability of volatile Muslim populaces easily roused to murderous fury, as in Benghazi and Cairo, then Islamic law on slander will have been enforced.

This is the real meaning of these attacks, which were purposefully calculated precisely to elicit the craven press release quoted above from the U.S. State Department. This is how dhimmitude is implemented. Islamic Jihad and Gama’a al-Islamiyya demands for the release of Omar Abdul Rahman (the “Blind Sheikh”), now serving a life sentence in U.S. federal prison for his involvement in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, also have been issued, along with a threat to burn the U.S. Cairo Embassy to the ground if these demands are not met.

We are witnessing the stepped process of the Islamization of American domestic and foreign policy unfold before our eyes and in accordance with both Sayyed Qutb’s classic book “Milestones,” as well as a November 2011 fatwa from Yousef al-Qaradawi, the Muslim Brotherhood’s senior jurist, in which he said, “Gradualism in applying the Sharia is a wise requirement to follow.”

The timeline began to shift into high gear in the summer of 2010, however, when al-Qa’eda called the Muslim world to action, a call answered in October 2010 by Muhammad Badi’ with a declaration of war (jihad) against the U.S., Israel, and Arab and Muslim regimes which were “disregarding Allah’s commandment to wage jihad.” The shift to active, violent jihad reflected obedience to al-Qaradawi’s further fatwa injunction, “Gradualism in that sense does not mean we are to procrastinate and put off applying the Sharia.”

The new Caliphate is rising under the leadership of the OIC through the directed action of its individual member states in coordination with the Muslim Brotherhood. Violent jihad is unleashed, and the United States of America is bowing to sharia on satellite TV and the global internet for all the world to see.

As of late Tuesday night, September 11, there had been not one word of criticism of the Benghazi or Cairo attacks from President Obama. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland seemed oblivious to the magnitude of what had just transpired, telling one reporter who mentioned “growing anti-U.S. sentiment” in Egypt, “I would urge you not to draw too many conclusions because we’ve also had some very positive developments in our relationship with Egypt.”

By this she clarified that she meant that Egyptians are undergoing a transition to democracy and are now free to protest … including against the very benefactor who not only helped them oust their long-time military rulers but has just delivered its annual $1.5 billion in aid and promised another billion in debt relief.

As the flag of al-Qa’eda flies over the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and the RPGs slam into the Benghazi Consulate; as Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood president talks nuclear programs with Iran and the American president abandons Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to the mullahs or Armageddon, the “Arab Spring” is completely unmasked.

This was no spontaneous outburst of oppressed peoples dreaming of democracy and individual liberty. This was the Islamic Awakening dreamed of for centuries by Sunni and Shi’a alike. Al-Qa’eda and the Muslim Brotherhood at last have merged visibly in a sea of waving black flags.

Huma Abedin: Assistant Editor of Islamist Journal

by Ryan Mauro

Huma Abedin with Sec. of State Hillary ClintonRep. Michele Bachmann and four other members of Congress are getting dumped on by members of both political parties for their letter requesting information about the influence of Muslim Brotherhood-tied groups and individuals in the U.S. government. The case of Huma Abedein, Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Clinton, has gotten almost all of the attention but their question about her is legitimate: Was her family’s close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood taken into account when granting her a security clearance?

The potential security concerns mentioned in the State Department’s published guidelines include:

  • “contact with a foreign family member… if that contact creates a heightened risk of foreign exploitation, inducement, manipulation, pressure or coercion.”
  • “connections to a foreign person, group, government, or country that create a potential conflict of interest between the individual’s obligation to protect sensitive information or technology and the individual’s desire to help a foreign person, group, or country by providing that information.
  • “performing or attempting to perform duties, or otherwise acting, so as to serve the interests of a foreign person, group, organization or government in conflict with the national security interest.”

Keep those criteria in mind as you consider the backgrounds of three of Abedin’s relatives.

Her mother, Dr. Saleha Abedin, is a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, the Brotherhood’s female counterpart. She serves in the Bureau with the wife of Mohammed Morsi, Egypt’s new Brotherhood president…

….Huma Abedin’s late father, Dr. Syed Abedin, was also intimately involved with Islamists. He led the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs based in Saudi Arabia. It is backed by the Muslim World League and is an entity of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth, a very extreme Islamist group. The Institute also published Mrs. Abedin’s book. Huma herself was an assisstant editor of the Institute’s journal as far back as 1996 and as recently as 2008, which means she was there when it published her mother’s extremist book. This screenshot from September 2008 shows that Huma, her mother and brother were all simultaneously editors of the journal….

CAIR Sends Letter to Michele Bachman

by THE GLOBAL MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD DAILY REPORT

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has sent a letter to Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN), in response to her recent allegations of Muslim Brotherhood influence within the U.S. government, stating that the organization is “eternally grateful that, like Sen. Joseph McCarthy before you, your power is limited, enumerated and constrained by our nation’s constitution.’ [sic] According to a CAIR press release [1]:

WASHINGTON, July 19, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today sent a letter to Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) in response to her recent calls for investigations of American Muslims who are participating in the democratic process. In the letter, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad wrote in part: ‘We remain eternally grateful that, like Sen. Joseph McCarthy before you, your power is limited, enumerated and constrained by our nation’s constitution.’ Awad also wrote: ‘Your letters challenging the loyalty of patriotic American Muslims based on discredited anti-Muslim conspiracy theories can only be described as devoid of a sense of decency. These are American citizens asking what they can do for their nation. ‘Among those you accuse, Mrs. Huma Abedin helps the Secretary of State represent the best interests of our nation overseas. The Society of Former Special Agents last year honored Mohamed Elibiary for his ‘extraordinary contributions to specific cases in support of the FBI’s counterterrorism mission.’ Dalia Mogahed was appointed to the president’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships and has advised the Department of Homeland Security. Imam Mohamed Magid enjoys widespread interfaith respect and has also advised the Department of Homeland Security. ‘The honorable public service of these individuals deserves better treatment than political theatrics characterized by half-truths, overblown accusations and guilt by association.’ The Washington-based Muslim civil rights organization’s letter also condemned Bachmann’s rhetorical attacks on the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) and Muslim Advocates.

A post from last week reported that Senator McCain has defended Abedin against allegations by Congresswoman Michele Bachman that she is an example of Muslim Brotherhood influence within the U.S. government. A previous post reported that U.S. Congressman Keith Ellison had called Bachman’s allegations of Muslim Brotherhood influence on the U.S. government “scare-mongering” and compared her efforts to those of Senator Joseph McCarthy….
