CAIR Commends Pentagon for Dropping Islamophobic Course
Muslim civil rights group asks DoD to retrain officers with accurate materials
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 4/25/12) — A prominent national Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization today commended the Department of Defense (DoD) for dropping an Islamophobic training course attended by senior officers and for instituting a complete review of training relating to Islam and Muslims.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) also called on the DoD to retrain those officers who took the course that, according to an exclusive investigative report by Wired magazine, was suspended after it was found to contain inaccurate and derogatory material about Islam. (Inaccurate according to whom? Muslim Brotherhood operatives? –ed.)
According to Wired: “The course instructed captains, commanders, lieutenant colonels and colonels from across all four armed services that ‘Islam had already declared war on the West.’” (…One of the documents seized in a concealed basement at the Foundation headquarters and put into evidence by the FBI was the Muslim Brotherhood’s plan for America. The stated goal of this plan was to “destroy the American civilization.” –ed.) (Wow. Those Muslim Brotherhood/CAIR guys sure are big fat liars! –ed.)

“We commend the Department of Defense for taking appropriate action when the biased and inaccurate information contained in this course came to light,” wrote CAIR National Legislative Director Corey Saylor in a letter to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta. “It is essential that senior officers who received inaccurate training be retrained using credible and balanced information (allow me to translate: pretty lies about the sweetness of all things Islamic. –ed.) about Islam and Muslims.”
He noted that CAIR last year welcomed a White House-ordered comprehensive review of government counterterrorism training materials to weed out Islamophobic content. ( (The term “Islamophobia” was invented and promoted in the early 1990s by theInternational Institute for Islamic Thought (IIIT), a front group of the Muslim Brotherhood.) –ed.)
Saylor said CAIR chapters nationwide have filed 87 separate public records requests about possible Islamophobic training of local, state and national law enforcement personnel. (WAH! Stop telling the truth about Islam!!! –ed.)
The Washington-based Muslim civil liberties organization has in the past called on the Obama administration, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and Congress to provide oversight for apparently widespread anti-Muslim bias in the training of law enforcement, security and military personnel nationwide.

CAIR noted the release of an 80-page report by Political Research Associates (PRA), titled “Manufacturing the Muslim Menace: Private Firms, Public Servants, & the Threat to Rights and Security,” which details a systemic failure to regulate content in counterterrorism training.
Washington Monthly magazine also published a major investigative article showing similar anti-Islam attitudes by private trainers of law enforcement agencies.
A number of recent reports have documented the growth and promotion of Islamophobia nationwide.

“FBI wiretap evidence which was introduced during the 2007 trial of the Holy Land Foundation (a trial that explored HLF’s financial ties to Hamas), proved that Nihad Awad had attended a 1993 Philadelphia meeting of Hamas leaders and operatives who collaborated on a plan to disguise funding for Hamas as charitable donations.”
“Abdurahman Alamoudi, one of CAIR’s former directors, is a supporter of both Hamas and Hezbollah, and is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for terrorism-related convictions.”
“Steven Pomerantz, the FBI’s former chief of counter-terrorism, has stated that “CAIR, its leaders and its activities effectively give aid to international terrorist groups.”
“WorldNetDaily quotes an FBI veteran as saying: “Their [CAIR's] offices have been a turnstile for terrorists and their supporters.”
“Terrorism expert Steven Emerson, citing federal law enforcement sources and internal documents, characterizes CAIR as “a radical fundamentalist front group for Hamas.”
“On September 17, 2003, U.S. Senator Charles Schumer stated that CAIR co-founders Nihad Awad and Omar Ahmad have “intimate links with Hamas.” He later remarked that “we know [CAIR] has ties to terrorism.”
