What a great event! The room was full. There were Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and even a couple of Muslims in attendance! Pamela spoke eloquently on the dangers of sharia law, and the necessity of resisting sharia law, while welcoming ALL people of good will to our country, Muslims included. Most interesting bit- one of the young Muslim men went to the microphone to ask Pamela a question- they ended up having a nice back and forth conversation. I spoke with this young man afterward. I asked him what he thought of the meeting- he said it was good. He felt comfortable in the room- I’d noticed many people coming up to him to shake his hand before I reached him. Imagine that! No bigotry or hatred on display, but rather folks going out of their way to welcome this young Muslim man. I asked him about the content of Ms. Geller’s speech. He said he agreed with her, and that it was obvious she does not have a hateful bone in her body. He said some of his friends were out front protesting, and he wished that they had come in to see for themselves what the meeting was about. Well done Sugar Land Tea Party!
